چکیده

Environmental pollution negatively affects the life activities of living things environment and causes structural damages on all inanimate things. The extent damage caused by human-made to nature is increasing day day. Heavy metal one most important environmental pollution. Cadmium, which pollutants, a highly toxic not used things, even in trace amounts. Cadmium also very heavy for plants. As with other metals, it triggers oxidative stress production reactive oxygen species plant cells, causing DNA abnormalities RNA production. Safflower oil high economic value intensive use as raw material many sectors. In this study, experimental groups prepared at different cadmium concentrations, negative/genotoxic effects mRNA expression levels FAD2 (FAD2-6, FAD2-7, FAD2-11) genes, responsible conversion oleic acid linoleic safflower varieties (Balci, Bdyas-04, Linas Asol) has been determined quantitative Real-Time PCR method. result, detected that decrease firstly genes concentrations cultivars. And also, re-increase 160 320 mg L-1 can be considered critical points, have accepted an indication defense mechanism against activated play role stress. conclusion, obtained data showed cultivars only fatty acids but

Devolopmental and growth temperature regulation of omega-3 fatty acid desaturase genes in safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.).

Three ω-3 fatty acid desaturase genes (CtFAD3, CtFAD7, and CtFAD8) were isolated from safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.). Transcript analysis showed that the highest transcript levels were detected for CtFAD3 and the low transcript levels were detected for CtFAD7 and CtFAD8 in flowers. This result indicates that CtFAD3 enzyme activity is important for fatty acid desaturation in flowers. The lo...

A Review of Fatty Acids and Genetic Characterization of Safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius L.) Seed Oil

Safflower, Carthamus tinctorius L., is an annual oilseed crop that is cultivated on small plots all over the world. The seed oil content ranges from 20% to 45%; the oil is high in linoleic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid that aids in lowering the blood cholesterol level. Thus, safflower has long been used as medical plant in many countries, especially in China and India. However, for industrial...

Effect of Salinity on Growth, Biochemical Parameters and Fatty Acid Composition in Safflower (carthamus Tinctorius L.)

The aim of the present project is to investigate the effect of salinity on growth, biochemical parameters and fatty acid composition in six varieties of safflower as well as identification of stress tolerant variety under saline (8 d Sm) condition. It was observed that salinity significantly decreased the dry weight and fresh weight of safflower varieties. Nitrate reductase (NRA) and nitrite re...

Quality evaluation of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) cultivars

Abstract Safflower is a minor oilseed crop in Australia where the market is dominated by canola, cottonseed and sunflower. Safflower however offers an alternative oilseed crop in marginal areas. This study was designed to evaluate current safflower lines and to determine their potential value both for edible oil and meal for animal feed. Two sets of samples were analysed. The first was a collec...

Breeding improvements in safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.): A review

Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is an oil seed crop that is grown not only for its edible oil but also for its applications as animal feed and plant-made pharmaceuticals. Historically, biometrical genetics played a crucial role in the improvement of safflower seed yield and its components, phenologic and morphologic traits, and nutritional properties including oil, fatty (linoleic, oleic, s...
